Guion Segment 5

The party started early, and as was always the case at any party Mick was uncomfortable, he did not like parties, he did not enjoy parties, he did not like any crowded place. These were people he knew and liked, but still too much, noise, questions and attention, he was ready to leave 10 minutes after he got to the party. He looked around the room and found Shane, and as was always the case he was surrounded by women, and he was loving it, talking, laughing and they were all flirting.

Guion Segment Six : Grandkids

It was not a long drive, it was a busy drive, stop and go, hurry up and wait, the kind of drive that wore on you. So when Mick finally got to his daughters house in Rhode Island he was spent and he was ready to get some sleep. Dena was waiting and worried, she loved him and now that her mother was gone she was even more protective of her father. Mick came in the side door of the big house, and she hugged him and asked “ Dad how was your drive, you are not accustom to that kind of drive are you, it can tire you out quick, can I get you something, coffee, water or a glass of wine” Mick finally got to speak “ Hello sweetheart, I am good, I am okay, and no I already had too much coffee”

Guion Segment Four

It was Mick’s last day in New York, he left his home and headed to the office, this could be the last time, that he would be at his home. This was the home he had shared with Layla, and this was the office where they both had worked. When most lose a mate, they can go to work and escape the memories, but for Mick there was nowhere to go, it was all bad memories now, it was all pain.

Guion Segment Three

Mick was trying to pack. He needed to get the essentials packed for his move to South Dakota, but this was hard as it all reminded him of his wife. He finished packing what he had to have; some shirts, jeans and boots, also his personal belongings he would need and decided he would just buy the rest when he got there. He now met with Anna, they spoke about what she would do after he left. She had been their cook and house keeper for over twenty years. Now she would continue to live at the townhouse and take care of it. Mick was not ready to sell it yet, and Anna was going to start cleaning out all the belongings that no one needed now. Mick didn’t want to think about all of Layla’s things going to charity.

Guion Segment Two

Guion

Layla had told Mick to go to Guion. It was one of the last things she said to him before she died.  She knew how lost he would be in the city, alone.

Guion was the horse ranch they owned in South Dakota. They had always intended to retire there. It was a beautiful spread with Guion Creek running through it, in the valley of the Indian.
